It is with great pleasure that we invite you to consider sponsoring the ‘Biodiversity Conference 2025: Nature Positive’ to be held at the University Club of Western Australia, Perth Western Australia 28-30 October 2025

The health and wellbeing of Country and people are connected. The oldest continuing cultures in the world – Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures – have held this truth at the core of their knowledge systems and their management practices. We must listen, learn and bring together Indigenous and Western Science through respectful co-design to support the transformational change needed in many of our landscapes, especially those which are degraded, to halt biodiversity decline.

Western Australia hosts eight of Australia’s 15 declared biodiversity hotspots and one of the highest rates of new species discovery in the world. The State of the Environment report found significant changes in some Australian ecosystems, with at least 19 now showing signs of collapse due to pressures of climate change, habitat loss, invasive species, pollution and mining.

This conference brings together custodians, researchers and practitioners from across Country, academia, government, industry and community to share knowledge to protect, conserve, and enhance our incredible biodiversity. In a rapidly changing environmental and political landscape we need to employ a diverse array of strategies to curb our impacts on the environment and pivot to a Nature Positive future.

With its strong Western Australian focus, this conference is jointly supported and run by all five WA Universities, the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation & Attractions and The Western Australian Biodiversity Science Institute.
